Supernatural

meow2 posted on the Debunking Christianity blog a concise definition of "Supernatural" that this blogger essentially accepts:

"A belief in the supernatural is by definition superstition**. Supernatural means beyond nature which means 'does not exist in the natural world.' As the natural world or universe is all we have, then 'supernatural' equals 'does not exist'."

This blogger would only add that the "supernatural" does not exist to us or effect us. If it did exist to us and effect us, it would be "natural". Does it exist in some other realm of reality? Who knows? We can only deal with what effects us.

** from dictionary.com:

1. a belief or notion, not based on reason or knowledge.
2. a system or collection of such beliefs.
3. a custom or act based on such a belief.
4. irrational fear of what is unknown or mysterious, esp. in connection with religion.
