Catholicism In Ireland

Jerry Coyne has posted a guest column from Sigmund presenting the present status of the Catholic Church in Ireland, a traditional solid cultural force in that country.  This blogger would like to believe that the declining support for the Catholic Church in Ireland, and elsewhere, is the result of more than the child abuse scandal --- how about greater use of reason and skepticism by the population?
