Alan Lightmam has written a lengthy but interesting article in Harper's Magazine concerning the hypothesis of a multiverse.
Is theoretical physics closing one gap in our knowledge only to create more gaps? In this blogger's opinion, god will always find gaps in which to hide for those who reject what is probable and accept what is possible.
