Too Many Clinical Trials Go Unreported

The recent issue of the Consumer Health Digest reports that too many clinical trials go unreported.

To quote the last paragraph of the report:
Timely and complete reporting are important for judging the effectiveness of treatments, and If reporting is not complete, the apparent tendency to report positive results more than negative ones ("publication bias") will make some treatments seem more effective than they actually are.
Also called the "file drawer effect", this activity violates ethical standards of research and can endanger the public directly.  It also reinforces the negative view many people have of science, which is a major issue politically presently.
