Richard Carrier has posted a rebuttal to Bart Ehrman's recent article in the Huffington Post criticizing mythicists, or those to do not accept the historicity of Jesus. Stay tuned. There surely will be more dialogue between these two prominent writers who address Judeo-Christian history.
Bottom line in this discussion: It makes no difference whether or not Jesus is based on a real person. The character is effectively fictional.
