Atheism Is A Byproduct Of Science

Mana Singham has posted on the relationship between science and atheism. Below are some points made:

  •  The practice of science is atheistic (methodological naturalism) and every aspect of life should be handled in the same way to be intellectually consistent.
  • Increased awareness of science correlates with increased levels of atheism.
  • God is simply irrelevant to scientific work. The negative implications for god is a byproduct of scientific research rather than the principle aim of it.
  • Scientific conclusions are tentative and that what is believed to be true is a collective judgment made by comparing theories and determining which one is best supported by evidence. Science may not be able to prove which theories are right and which are wrong, but is able to judge which ones are good and which ones are bad. God is a terrible theory.
