What Do Atheists Have In Common?

The Atheist Revolution blog has written at least two brief pieces (here and here) about common values that most atheists share. While it is true that not believing in god, in itself, is not enough to unite us, these posts do present examples of common values around which most of us can be politically involved, such as:
  • Separation of church and state
  • Quality, reality-based public education that teaches our children critical thinking
  • Atheist civil rights and educating the public about atheism
  • Ensuring that elected representatives make decisions after considering relevant empirical data as opposed to blindly following ideology or dogma.

Atheists are a varied lot but I think your list lists issues most atheists would support.
